We are firm and committed to our mission to develop and provide services that promote networking and communication among PGIS and community mapping practitioners working with local resource dependant communities.

In keeping with this spirit, we offer on this site a wealth of information about PGIS ranging from practical information for PGIS practitioners to training opportunities in GIS-related courses. Our free bi-monthly e-newsletter, CONNECT Africa, to be launched soon, will provide more information on indigenous communities that have integrated the PGIS practice and are applying the practice to map their territories and improve their significance in customary entitlements and commonly shared resources.

By highlighting our programs, projects and events, we show you how ERMIS Africa is helping local communities, individuals and organizations across the private, public, nonprofit and education sectors, to network and share information as well as appreciate PGIS practices.

I invite you to join our online discussion forum, community mapping network - CMN-ECA - by registering today. As a member of CMN-EA, you will be able to exchange ideas, experiences, skills, knowledge and strategies in PGIS with other PGIS practitioners in Eastern and Central Africa. You will also have access to CMN's knowledge through PGIS educational articles and other related materials, as well as updates about our training opportunities that will assist you in building your expertise in PGIS technologies, approaches, and ethics.
