ERMIS Africa Support to Save Mau Forest Complex and other Water Towers The destruction of Mau Forest Complex, one the five key water towers in Kenya, has evoked catastrophic impacts to various ecosystems and the climate system within the sourthern Rift Valley and Lake Victoria regions. ERMIS Africa has responded by exploring the role of Traditional Ecological Knowledge; Innovations and Practices ; Participatory Forest Management Plans ; and a Local Spatial Data Infrastructure and Clearinghouse to support decision making and implementation of conservation and management initiatives by the various stakeholders operating within complex Climate Change for Schools  Global Climate Change mitigation and adaptation strategies can only be realized through concerted efforts by involving all sectors, at the national and local levels.
