Water Information Management System

The Water Resource Management Information System (WRMIS) is a web-based system developed by ERMIS Africa to provide a web-based solution to Kenya’s Water Sector towards contributing to Sustainable Management of Water Resources in the country. The WRMIS will utilize Web-based, Open Source Technologies and GSM Technologies to make a dynamic and real-time information-based water resources management system over geographically dispersed areas and actors a reality in Kenya.

The system will incorporate web-based data entry forms and reports, web-mapping, offline-mapping and GSM. The Management Information System is to be piloted with the Water Service Board, a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.

ERMIS Africa has been on the forefront in providing Environmental Information Systems solutions towards a built-up, liberated, nourished and expanded information society across Africa. ERMIS Africa is seeking the support of like-minded development actors within the water sector including Government and Private Organizations, NGOs and Donor Community towards successful development and operationalisation of the Water Resource Management Information System.
