Children Rights Safeguard

ERMIS Africa’s passion for Safeguarding Children Rights is borne from the realization that Children, especially in the African Society, occupy a unique and privileged position in the society. In addition, we recognize that, children have special special needs in terms of care, support, and protection for their physical, social and mental development as well as to ensure harmonious development in their personality.
ERMIS endeavors to promote the safeguarding of Children rights and freedoms including survival, development, protection and participation in planning and implementation of policy and development processes. To this effect, ERMIS is committed to initiating programmes and projects that would ensure that children rights are protected and that the children are fully equiped with knowledge of what their rights are, what constitutes a violation of these rights as well as the channels to seek redress when violation occurs. In addition ERMIS seeks to ensure all projects implemented under its programmes address child rights and have measures in place to maximize children's benefit and prevent or mitigate negative effect on children. ERMIS approach to safeguarding children rights include:

  • Child-led Actions aimed to mentor children to fully and effectively participate in decision-making and implementation at all levels.
  • Child-centred Policy, Emergency and Development Actions (Child-centred PED) aimed at programming Child rights in policy formulation and implementation within government, civil societies, donors, private sector and local communities emergency and development agenda.
